Celebrate your own way!
Our First Birthday sessions are designed to give you total control over the type of session you have and type of images we capture. After all, you know your baby better than anyone else! We want you to love your session and we want you to love the images we create.
Where as some parents love messy Cake Smash pictures, others may wish to focus more on capturing natural portraits of the birthday girl/boy as they celebrate turning one! And some may prefer a mixture!
Your session will be split into two halves and we invite you to choose two 'set-ups' from the list below;
- Individual portraits of the birthday boy/girl
- Portraits of the birthday boy/girl with an older sibling
- Beautiful Family portraits (including Mum/Dad and any older siblings)
- Cake Smash
- Tub Time!

If you're looking through the list and thinking 'Ah but I want all of those things', honestly there are photographers that provide this service. But our experience has taught us that babies this age tire quickly and trying to keep them happy and entertained for four of five different set-ups can just leave them a little bit sad, meaning no one enjoys the session. Also, babies around the one year mark often suffer from separation anxiety as soon as mum moves more than a meter away and expecting them to pose and stay still for hours on end isn't realistic. Our sessions last around an hour which we know from experience means babies will be happier, more entertained and more willing to co-operate! We work this way so that you get the very best from your little one and that they have a lovely time throughout!
'When Cake is Life and Life is Cake'
Most parents will choose to include a Cake Smash element in their first birthday photography session. We have photographed hundreds of babies at this age and know all the tricks to get them smiling, giggling and knee deep in cake!
We invite you to bring your own cake to the session with you. Don't worry, that doesn't mean we expect you to bake a masterpiece (unless you want to of course!). We work with a number of local cake makers and we will provide you with their details in our session guide once you've booked your session. We ask you to liaise with them directly simply so we're not the 'middle-men' and so you can tell them exactly what sort of cake you would like. There are lots of examples in our photos and obviously we will help you to make the right choice.
New for 2019...Tub Time!
We are proud to be one of the only baby and children's photographers in the North West to offer Tub Time as part of our First Birthday Sessions! Most babies at this age absolutely LOVE bath time and we love capturing their little faces as they splash around in the tub!
How to Book
Our Session fee is just £50 and is payable up-front to secure your booking. Your session fee includes the following;
* Approx. 1 hour of one to one professional photography services
* Exclusive use of my Home Studio
* Use of my extensive range of props and accessories (bring or bake your own cake)
* Professional editing and re-touching of all images
* Gallery of around 20 images for viewing and ordering (Images are not included and are charged in addition)
Your gallery will be available to view approx. 2 - 3 weeks after your photography session when you will be invited back to the studio to choose your collection.
Our Signature Collections range from £275 - £475 (including digital images on USB, prints and a few lovely surprise extras!)
